Dead Leaves

As Fall approaches, I’ve been thinking about how beautiful the trees are when the colors change. I love going up to Colorado and seeing the Aspens with their stunning yellows all over the mountains. But what happens next? After the leaves turn, they blow away leaving the trees barren. Losing leaves makes room for new growth. The same is true in our lives. Some things have to blow away to make room for the new. Maybe it’s an old habit that needs to go, or perhaps it is something good that you want to hold on to, but life sweeps it away. What would happen to a tree if the dead leaves did not blow away? What would happen in your life if you never let go of what is already dead?
