The Price of Love is Grief
The Price of Love is Grief
When we experience grief, it changes us. It is a painful but profound teacher—if we allow it to be. Grief teaches us that life is hard, that loss is inevitable, and that love, even with its cost, is still worth it.
The depth of our grief reflects the depth of our love. When we have loved with all our hearts, we grieve with all our hearts. The pain of loss is the price we pay for the beauty of connection, for the joy of truly knowing and being known.
As Christians, we are not called to avoid grief but to walk through it with hope. 1 Thessalonians 4:13 reminds us, "We do not grieve like those who have no hope." Our sorrow is real, but it is not without purpose. Even in our deepest pain, we can trust that God is near, comforting us (Psalm 34:18) and reminding us that love—true, selfless, God-given love—is always worth the cost.
Grief teaches us to cherish the moments we have, to love more deeply, and to hold onto the eternal promises of God. It reminds us that one day, every tear will be wiped away (Revelation 21:4), and the love we have shared will not be lost but fulfilled in His presence.
So, as we walk through seasons of grief, may we remember: the pain of loss is real, but the love that caused it was worth every moment. And in that love, we find traces of eternity.
